An Introduction Note: Your visit here is appreciated, and questions and comments are welcome and held confidential. This web site is designated as www.BibleCounsel.homestead.com and is non-sectarian ministry to encourage the reading of God's Word, and for serious seeking after truth. It values God's work of revival in the early 1800's, with which it is associated, and urges readers to learn about it (see Church Truth page and Feature pages above). It is always the desire and hope here to obey and honor our Lord, and encourage and seek the spiritual welfare of all people.
Papers and comments here are changed periodically, and are personal convic- tions. There are many pages for help and encouragement. The manager may not have answers for all questions, but is glad to share what he has and be of some help. He is not perfect and revisions and updates seem needed at times to clarify thoughts, so one might note the revision date on any papers they wish to copy (set your print margins at .25). Any copies made should not be altered or taken out of context.
Everyone may participatein the ministry of this web site, by telling their friends to visit here. We hope all will find some ministry to help, and perhaps a nice challenge for their faith. Surely "the time is short", as God says, and surely we need to also "be about (our) Father's business". See the message and testimony at Site Manager Page.

THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT TRUTHS IN LIFE
A COMPREHENSIVE STATEMENT OF THE ESSENTIAL TRUTH FOUND ON THIS WEB SITE
Commentary By Robert DeWitt, 3/08
There are many of us who truly believe the two most important truths in life for souls to receive are: 1) the knowledge and assurance of salvation from eternal condemnation in hell and being with God in heaven forever in the afterlife (see John 3:16); 2) appreciation and some understanding of God's "exceeding great and precious promises" (2 Pet. 1) of blessings and rewards in heaven one day for obedience to the Word of God, faithfulness to the Son of God, and honor to God in all of His ways while one is here on earth. If one is going on without these two extremely important verities, we must say that one is facing much regret, for-feiture, and loss when he/she leaves this world; thus we hope readers will seek to get it right. The writer will be pleased to discuss this further.
Having set forth a fundamental statement here concerning eternal truth, let us now give some thought to what it means for us. Needless to say, the introductory statement here is the truth if one is clear and accepting of the Holy Bible as the full and infallible Word Of God; otherwise one has no legitimate standard to keep, and is left to their own philosophies and various religions of men. Is one saved
(1 John 5:12)? Is one then going on faithfully according to God's Word? This is not speaking about perfection. Having made the decision, let us proceed.
On the pages of this web site one will be directed to the Word Of God as the only source for ETERNAL TRUTH and a GODLY PATHWAY. Each month they will find, Lord willing, information and challenges concerning redemption---the gospel message and way of salvation of the soul, judgments, God's plan for man and His creation, expectations, and God's reign and glory overall. Church truth is presented herein as an urgent need to obey and honor God, keep His testimony, and find His pathway for truth and blessings. There are also pages concerning spiritual life---worship, devotion and communion, joy, peace, and assurance in the Christian life by trust, to meet the trials of life and enjoy blessings along our sojourn through this world.
So, in summary, readers are encouraged to consider this ministry, prove it by the Word Of God, and earnestly pray that God will reveal Himself and His truth for blessings and hope. It is extremely important to commune with God, not just say prayers. Let us not suppose that conformity to this world, our own vain reason-ings, religions, or the ideas of men will suffice, for the consequences are critical.
